Congratulations to the 2026 Helen Gooch Scholarship recipients. Four students from the Covina Valley Unified School Districted accepted a total of $1,600 in scholarship dollars for their future educational endeavors.

Dozens of essays were read by the Friends of the Covina Public Library’s Board of Directors covering the topic “Discuss why it is important to have a library in the community.“ The winners represented Northview, Covina, South Hills and Fairvalley High Schools.

The Scholarship recipients were honored before the end of the school year at the Library in a lovely ceremony that included a proclamation from California State Assembly Member Blanca Rubio, a gift back and cake.
